SATA II drives are no faster on average then SATA 1. Average transfer rates are practically identical. Working for one of the top 3 PC OEMs, I have regular access to actual benchmarks provided by our engineering team as well as the benchmarks provided by seagate, WD and Maxtor. Your claims about the speed of SATA II are pure marketing hyperbola. The faster Buss speeds are bunk also simply because the gating item is the devices you are communicating with and not the buss. Hard drives, optical drives and the other devices that are communicated with through the buss cannot take data as fast as the buss can deliver it.
