RE: "There are several problems with your conclusions."
Completely missed the point, i did not say AMD was the first with 64-bit, i said AMD was the first to break the 32bit to 64bit transition. I know Intel has a 64-bit processor, but they didn't have anything that natively did both 32-bit and 64-bit without software emulation.

And, to the contrary, the faster bus speed goes hand in hand with the newer components. AGP was the video card slot rage of all time, but PCI-Express is replacing it becuase it's a much better standard and PCI-Express can be used for more then just a video card, SATA controller cards are availible for them now.

Actually again, your wrong, there is no Myth about SATA II drives not actually achieving 300/MBs a second. First off SATA II has been out for 2 years now, but it's only recently that it's commericially availible. Second of all, SATA is based on Simpler version of SCSI. SATA drives do alot like priotizing data, read-ahead of data and so forth. And the actually transfer speeds do rank right around 26 to 30 Megs of data per second transferred.

You should do a little bit more homework,

"Also, yet i not mention that AMD has been the first person/company at the door with inovations for PC chips, breaking the 1GHz barrier first, then breaking the 32bit to 64-bit transition barrier."

Intel had a 64bit, (Itanium) chip before AMD and AMDs 64 bit chip is just an extension of the X86 architecture that Intel invented.

"You now have better access to things such as faster memory, bus speeds, video cards, a lot faster hard drives (a plug for the oncoming SATA II drives, 300/MBps a second baby) of which these 4 items make or break how well a CPU performs."

Intel already uses the DDR 2 that AMD is talking about going to. The buss speeds, video cards and hard drives are a wash.

Now to this myth about the great performance gains from SATA II. Changing the buss speed to 300MB/second will do little or nothing to improve system performance since the gating item is how fast you can read/write to the magnetic media. You will never see 300MB/second from any of these drives except for an occasional burst from the drives cache.
