64bit OS?
Is he running a 64bit OS Like Windows XP 64? Unfortunately small compatibility problems with 32bit apps are unavoidable. But you cannot let that hold back progress. I currently run Windows XP 64 on my Athlon 64 and have installed many applications and they all run fine. I never had a problem finding 64 bit drivers for any of my devices. I would list all the stuff I use, but it would take up this entire post. Basically everything from Office 2003, Adobe Software like their creative suits, AIM, CD/DVD Burning applications and many more. The only problem I had was an antivirus utililty and I talked to my symantec rep and he gave me a free license to Symantic Antivirus 10 Corp. Edition. So their may be a few problems but that is normal for a big technology transition like this. That is why I recommend that most people run 32bit XP and people that take the jump to 64bit XP should realize that their may be a few things that still need to be worked out. So my point is that why should the benefits of 64bit be put off just because there will be some transition issues. Especially when you can run a 32bit OS for the time being or better yet do a dual boot and run both a 32bit and a 64bit OS. From what I have seen with Vista it should make compatibility a whole lot better.
