You are totally misguided. You need to do a little research buddy. AMD has won more benchmarks in the past than Intel and there performance per watt is much higher than Intel. AMDs current offerings run a heck of lot cooler than Intel and consume less power. Do some research on Opteron vs Xeon and you will see that for yourself. As far as 64bit goes, you are right, it will be some time before 64bit apps are the norm, but it was the same with 32bit back in the day. Give credit to AMD for being the first to bring a 64bit (32bit compatible) system to market. That way when 64bit becomes standard people with PCs a few years old can take advantage of it. No one is saying that Intel makes a unreliable product, just that they use their marketing and financial influence to sway people.

Intel's dominance in the CPU market was a matter of being in the right place at the right time. There was a time where your computer could have had an Intel CPU and AMD CPU and they were identical. They were called 486's and 386's. Back then no one knew the difference. Today it is all about brand recognition.
