Do you understand the cost of using Intel?
I'm not trying to insult you, but the cost of using an Intel chip (Itanium 2) would cost just as much as the G5 processor. Now add in the support cost of the two diffferent architectures (spelling), and you'll understand why. They would have to support two platforms for at least 3 more years.
