Cellular merger won't let users off contract hook

Can't escape mediocrity!: I've been running AWAY from Cingular since they
were Houston Cellular in our area due to BAD (very
bad) service. SW Bell (now SBC) had great
wireless service till they bought Houston
Cellular and affiliates and forced me to "upgrade"
to their phones. Guess what! Same bad service.

AT&T wireless also has provided great service,
but...If history is any indication I expect
this good service to go out the window.

As for "shopping" around for the best rates at the
expense of wireless carriers ...
WHY NOT? Corporate America shops around for the
