Is this revenge of Itanic?
Intel Wide Dynamic Execution sounds a lot like Itanium's very wide word architecture. And depending on sw companies to "take advantage" of multicores is, again, another verse from the Itanium song book (which depending on great compilters to keep those wide instruction words filled).

Given the huge success (sic) of Itanium, are we going down another microarchitecture that will be an "evolutionary dead end"?
