No competition if Itanic had succeeded
Intel made a bet on Itanic. If Itanic had succeeded, they would have had all patents necessary to be the only one to deliver CPUs for PCs. It would have been a true monopoly.

What surprises me the most is that corporate buyers didn't didn't see the problem with a 100% Intel monopoly and continued to buy Intel-only. If it hadn't been for the gamers, AMD would have been dead now. How much money hasn't these gamers saved for corporate America, if it hadn't been for AMD, top of the line today whould have been 2.8 Ghz P4 for $999.

Intel stumpled before and everytime they come back and killed the competition. Remember Zilog, whos Z80 was much better than 8080?

I hope AMD succeed, and I only use Intel on laptops, otherwise I use AMD Sempron and X2.
