I wouldn't make any bets yet.
Intel has already proven when they attempt to lead the way, they can't. Now they have given their best and newest effort and it only allows them to compete. It does not give them a major advantage and AMD has yet to respond with their latest(later this year). Not to mention that Intel's refusal for an onbaord memory controller is going to prove fatal when multi-core goes mainstream. Whatever the reasons and whatever the numbers, AMD has taken a large chunck of the highly visible real estate directly from Intel. I can't remeber a time when I've seen so many systems advertised as featuring AMD. No small step. Even if Intel starts to really run away in this race it's still win/win for all of us with better chips and we all know that AMD is the one to thank for that. Without them there is no race and Intel keeps churning out the average.
