You have got to be kidding me!
HyperTransport is far more than just MHz and rhetoric. Go police yourself.

The new Bensley allows better use of the slow FSB but it is still a kludge and that, according to the engineer who invented it! It is still a half-duplex system, it still cannot send data between RAM and CPU at CPU clock-cycle speeds, it still has to send data to an external bus and back to communicate between multiple processors, it still is only a kludge to get single-die, multi-core CPUs to share data, cache & RAM and it still doesn't handle 64bit processing properly.

Insight64 analyst Nathan Brookwood said Monday in an introduction to a report that concluded AMD has significantly better multicore technology than Intel not just for current Xeon and Opteron models, but also for future models such as Intel's "Clovertown" with four cores.

I'll put my money where my mouth is and float more money into AMD stocks which continue to climb. This is the reason for all the Intel hype. Check their stock prices over the last 18 months. They need something to boost investor confidence. This (premature) announcement has nothing to do with technology. It has to do with the stock market.
