Because you read it incompletely and then composed a lame comment. In the context he is using, he provides a very good point.

He was providing a reasoning to backup his post prior to making his comment, as BG did say such a thing. It only took him a few years to find out how wrong he was, yet he never did recant his opinion. At the time, BG was wrong and adapted when his OS became so big and memory intensive.
