But if you build boards, you're looking for a relationship
But if you buy processors to build boards, you're looking for a relationship. And no one wants a relationship with the Italian NY mobsters, no more than they want a relationship with the Italian thugs at their retirement village in Phoenix, AZ and their workplace in Chicago, IL.

If the relationship could be ignored, then the hoods who developed the CISC 68000 & RISC 88000 would have won based on technology. But they didn't.

Because it's not always about the best technology; in fact it's more often about who you want a relationship with. And blue can't be trusted. They became greasy back with the PPC deal and sold their soul to the devil. In fact, the PPC was great technology for its day.

If I had to pick the best technology right now, it would be Sun's 8 core Niagara chip. It's shipping now in volume. But one would want a relationship as well with a trust worthy partner. I don't know enough about McNealy to comment.
