Further Details on the Project
This is not Z80 technology; the FPGA's in question which are proposed are Xilinx Vertex 2 Pro 70 parts connected to 2 GB RAM for each FPGA. Memory runs at 200 MHz with 72-bit memory accesses on each cycle.

Many Xilinx FPGA's have built in PowerPC cores, not sure it these particular one's do or not.
