intel was pushing...
Intle was pushing RDRAM long before DDR was known of by the general public, and long before it was sold.

AMD was still using PC100 and PC133 standard SDRAM. Intel kept pushing RDRAM after DDR showed up.. but eventually had to give up on RDRAM.
