Lack of apps NOT a problem in Linux
"Cons: It's Linux. It works, but the lack of applications, and compatibility issues, tend to prompt users to gravitate toward Windows."

WRONG.

a) There are NO compatibility issues if it's all OEM stuff and designed to work together anyways. Compatibility issues ONLY arise when somebody is replacing Windows or building a new computer.

b) Lack of apps is NOT a problem with Linux. ESPECIALLY since this is targeted towards poor people who are NOT very likely to use the more specialized apps. For a poor person, Linux provides everything neccessary for basic computer operations (word processing, internet & email, etc). The "lack of apps" problem exists only in Michael Kanellos' mind, and is not a real problem for a computer designed to target poor people.

Remember, for a poor person, anything is better than nothing. It does not need to be uber-powerful or have millions of apps available. It only needs to provide basic productivity - which Linux provides easily.
