How can a country let alone a region expect Windows when most of them don't even have windows in their homes. Let along a clue as to what a computer is.
You are so far out of touch with reality that once again, I am led to believe you are an employee for Microsoft.
"Linux comes with a selection of free applications. But basic functionality is not the main issue."
What?!
"People want the world's standard software amd the major applications that run on it. Partly that's a sensible decision about employment, but it's also a point of pride not to use something that's only cheap."
No, people want what meets the following criteria:
1. Affordable
2. Reliable
3. Accessible
4. Works for the task needed
You are applying western mentallity to other nations that don't even think like we do. Have you ever been to a third world nation?
