Yes, these systems are not for the average Joe. But did you notice that the Intel-based HP system was $3 million more than the IBM system? That's more than 50% more expensive.
When was the last time IBM beat an Intel system so convincingly on bang-per-buck?
You may also care to notice tha Big Blue did it with half the processors - that's gotta be good for power consumption, heat, failure rates, etc.
