RISC architecture always wins ...
over non-RISC Intel architecture in a given situation assumimg the same clock frequency, cache sizes, etc. BUT RISC technology is always MUCH more expensive due to Intels production cost advantages. So the only news here is that IBM is getting (or trying to get) back in the CPU game. The question is whether they can price that chip at a point that makes sense in the real world. Since Linux, unlike Windows, runs on virtually any architecture, Linux customers are free to choose their platform, so again, the big question becomes the price points.
