The ENIAC was NOT ?the first computer?...
as proclaimed in the title of your story, ?ENIAC: First Computer Makes History.? Frankly, I am disappointed by such false claims in a respected electronic publication as ZDNet.

The first electronic digital computer (The ABC) was created (1939 ? 1942) by Dr. John Vincent Atanasoff and Clifford Berry at Iowa State College (Now Iowa State University) and demonstrated in November 1939; a fact which you barely touch upon in your article.

Furthermore, U.S. District Judge Earl R. Larson ruled on 19 October 1973 in a patent trial that John Mauchly pirated Atanasoff?s ideas and concept of the electronic digital computer after Mauchly?s visit to Iowa State in 1941.
