Now you can burn other gas, but you have a loss of performance. Hmmmm, much like Skype has a loss of performance on AMD "gas".

It looks like you understood exactly what I posted. If you read the article, you would see there is no reason for Skype to run slower on nonIntel chips, and in fact, it should run faster on AMD chips. Of course, it is also believed at this time that Skype does not have any Intel specific instructions in its code. It just asks for the CPU id, much like web sites do by finding out the browser by using Javascript. One of these days, someone will put in a bios option to say how the CPU will present its ID. Or someone with too much time on his/her hands will figure out how to intercept the call on a lower level. One of these days, Skype will run unofficially, and without problems, on AMD and other nonIntel processors. Someone will have ended up wasting a bit of money on this partnership.

And on another note, where do you come up with your exclusive GM/Firestone partnerships? You can get tires other than Firestones on GM cars. You mention Corvettes above. If your new car happens to be a Corvette, here's some news for you -- G O O D Y E A R does not spell Firestone.
