Well that athylon 64 series is for the desktop and I doubt your average desktop user will even use 4GB's of memory.

My opteron 146 board supports 8GB and from what I have seen in benchmarks the opteron under suse is owning any other 32 bit processor, personally I would like to see them once they release a pure 64 bit linux. Not to mention that the Itanium cant do 32/64 as well as the Opteron.

I can buy an opteron server right now and not worry whether win2k3, exchange 2000/2003 or any other app for that matter will run flawlessly, you cant say that with the itanium.
