And to add to that, RIM doesn't just sit around (like those at NTP and hope for money to be gifted to them), they have decided to be proactive and go out and re-write their technology - that alone is proof that these guys have what it takes to succeed and are driven by a passion about their technology, not only by the greed that so influences NTP.

Have a read through Jim Balsillie's article... this will help you understand RIM's stance a little better.
