Well...Definately not a Furby, or Cabbage Patch Kid....
For one the iPod's been around since 2001.

It definitely opened doors that never existed for me. No longer lugging all my CDs with me and listing on CD players. I have 2 million digital songs at my fingertips 24 hours a day on iTunes, (its partner in crime...ahh I mean legal music). It definitely got me excited about music again. Just like Tivo spoiled us by letting us watch shows at our time not the network, the iPod is doing the same, letting us listen to music our way, not how the radio or RIAA would like us to buy and listen. To pass the iPod off as just another "chic" or as some would say "Fad" item, means every other DAP should be viewed as such. It means we should all go back to lugging all our CDs. It's not the first DAP, but right now it's leading the pack, leading us into a new era of mobil digital entertainment at our fingertips so yeah IMO, it will stick. Weather it's the best player or not, that will always be debatable.
