PS: You forget that a) "terrorists" aren't forced to buy American spyware, they can buy foreign or even write it themselves and b) they can communicate securely even without the Internet.

I think the governments only solution to this is to only allow voip by registering a 128bit key with your local provider

...and you'd be happy to hand it to them, right? Will you also let them install video cameras in your living room so long as only authorized government agents are allowed to turn them on?

I say this is a "problem" which doesn't need solving.

What you should really be doing is asking *WHY* anybody would want to attack America. After all, I don't see Osama attacking Switzerland, or Italy, or Germany, or....
