Sure... IF you don't use the right fan.

Of course, the SAME can be said of any modern Intel chip run without a fan too...

The faster the chip, the more heat they produce.

For the record... I have a couple of Athlon systems - one runs 24/7/365 with only the occasional power down to reboot. It's up about 96% of the time and still runs perfectly.
