Every Dell I've ever used for the last 4 years (which is tons since i repair mainly Dells for a living where i work) comes with a Dell labeled OS cd. They are not restore disks, they do a normal install that doesnt require activation if on Dell hardware. This may be different for home user lines as i only use business lines.
Dell support for companies and government is quite nice, though not perfect. If you want fantastic support, then dont be cheap and pay Dell the extra for Dell Gold Support, and they are pretty much the best support from any compuer company I've ever delt with, and they are in the US.
Dell has an extrmeely useful website acessable by anyone. The only one i like more is Apples GSX, but you have to have a Tech ID to get in there.
some Dell systems have non-standard power supplies, not all, and not even most. Ive used Dell PSUs out of most of their towers just fine on standard ATX motherbaords, and i have used standard non-dell PSUs on Dell motherboards.
Dells newer models are completely 100% intel BTX spec. You can even buy an off the shelf BTX motherboard and put it right in the case. BTX is so much nicer in many ways i hope ATX will just die out. - Posted by: doh123 Posted on: 02/02/06 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
