Obviously they have enough room for the desktop models,
but by using XServes they will save a lot of money on
cooling them. Actually an acticle I read about this change-
over said that there really won't be any extra costs incurred
because of the savings in temperature control, and what
they will get for selling the existing boxes. The other
benefit is, if they decide to add on more later, they will
already have plenty of space available to do so, and they
won't need to rebuild, or remodel anything. Plus, as
mentioned, Apple is giving them a great deal. This could
actually be a money-maker for VT as others will want to
buy time on the BigMac for their own research.
