Too Much
When I first read VT was going to replace the G5 towers with XServes, I figured some of the old systems would make their way to the general public (though I expected Apple to resell them, not MacMall.) When I read early this morning that MacMall was selling them, I quickly went to their site to see the price. I was a bit disappointed when I saw the high asking price for a refurb'd system. These may be the physical machines used by VT, but it's not like there's any real benefit to them. They're G5s, just like any other G5 out there, except they're refurbished and for that there's only $200 knocked off the price. Compare that to a refurb'd dual 1.8 G5 for $500 less than the cost of a new unit when purchased from Apple. The VT machnies should have been priced similarly... knock another 300-400 off and then they'll actually be worth it. Until then you'd be better off buying new sad
