Intel, Microsoft join forces for entertainment PCs
Intel and Microsoft are going in the wrong direction with entertainment PCs. People don't want to watch tv on their PCs, they want their PCs to connect to their existing stereo and tv. LCD/plasma TVs are getting bigger and dropping in price so they are starting to sell more. Would you rather watch Fast Times at Ridgemont High on a flat screen 50" tv or a 17"?

There are also some other personal requirements I'd like to see. Small form factor, let it piece together with the rest of my home theater especially the amp tuner thingy so it can sit on the same shelf and plug into it. Noiseless, absolutely very little to no noise. Fans are just way too noisey to have something like this out in the living room. Must be able to output video and audio (I'd imagine this one is already solved with S-Cables?). Must not run linux, personal pet peeve of mine wink
