When will we learn?
How many times has the potential for privacy abuse been dismissed by the abusers. Like software product activation, RealPlayer download tracking (ON, by default), TiVo viewing habits, etc., they ALWAYS say that even though they CAN track the data back to an individual, they won't. And we believe them because why would they? What's in it for them? What's in it for them is whatever revenue stream that eventually comes along to make it worth doing. And they alrady have the capability. Isn't that convenient.

That's why when I drive through a toll booth with my EZ-Pass, I put it back in the anti-static bag. Ina few years they'll be catching criminals all over the place because the dumb bastard had an RFID tag in his shoes or jacket that he didn't know about. Electronic fingerprints in a wireless world.

The potential for abuse always brings abuse.
