Agreed
"When will these companies learn not to mess with consumers!"

When there are consequences for doing so, like corporate sabotage. I really do believe that in the future if things continue to go at the same pace that government and corporate sabotage will become a norm in the future. I see a day where corporations will be bombed for doing nasty criminal things.
It is absurdly laughable to think that Tivo, and every other company for that matter, is not collecting every last drop of information about its users and their habits. The data could be a HUGE gold mine for advertisers. When has ANY company put its customers' priorities ahead of its own greed?! Please..
