The hackers love this! RFID hacking will turn all of these things into a nightmare.
How can the doo doo hit the fast spinning metal blades?
1. RFID tags used in a warehouse to track inventory could be hacked by a competitor to wreak havok. Say perhaps right before end-of-quarter statements or before a site wide inventory.
2.counterfeiters hacking RFID to pass off bogus goods. Would sure make that guy at the airport with the fake Rolex's job easier.
3. Terrorists hack RFID tags on/in military supplies costing taxpayers millions or worse in the case of weapons parts. If we think we have plenty of spare tank parts on the battlefield and we really don't, this could cost lives.
4.REALLY SCARY. Terrorists hack RFID tags at hospitals and mess with the inventory counts on supplies and blood levels.
5. EVEN SCARIER. Terrorists use hacked RFID tags to mark fake medications that are poisoned as the real thing.
The abuses are as numerous (maybe more) as the benefits. How in gods name could anyone think of trusting the safety and security of EVERYONE to a technology that is no more secure than the average home wireless connection. Don't think it can be done?
