In the past, Intel convinced the reporting agencies that every Xbox sold should count as a computer chip in the market share reports. I thought that was ridiculous because the Xbox is not a computer, and I once suggested they make earrings out of very old chips and tell Gartner those should count toward "processors sold."
Now that the Xbox 360 is out (and using a PowerPC chip from IBM), how will Intel make up for those lost "sales"? The loss of those chips could be a sudden 1 or 2 point drop, and I can't wait to hear how Intel explains *that* to their investors.
