Oh boy here we go
Just wanting to start arguements today? Ok, I'll play your silly little games just to prove my point and make you feel invaluable.

Poor planning?
What? Did you even read the article? Barroso said quite clearly that this will be a problem in the future if CPU bang-per-watt is not increased. That sounds to me like he is looking ahead and trying to plan for the future.

I did read the article, and it sounds to me like it was poor planning by Google for using off the shelf x86 boxes. They are worried sick about this because they will be paying a large amount just to run those boxes if it holds true that they have thousands of them in their data centers.

Or would you rather that Google not to expand their business? Yeah, that makes sense.

I'd rather they didn't, just like you and the rest of your "community" don't want MS to expand theirs. They surely wouldn't be missed by me if they disappeared tomorrow. Google offers nothing that the others haven't done already.
