Just Adding Expense...

I applaud Greenpeace for much of it's work...saving whales is worth the effort. But making Microsoft stop using PVC just adds more cost to the consumer..how much do you say???

I work in manufacturing myself...and the volume of government regulation and consumer pressure to change everything AT ONCE!...is getting to be so burdensome and time consuming, that a lot of business is just being driven out of the U.S.
(to destinations in foreign countries where there are no environmental laws...and if you don't know what I mean, just cross the Mexican Border sometime).

In exchange for a higher standard of living than "cave dweller," civilization has had to make compromises with the environment...we are not a pastoral civilization any longer, when our inventions fit neatly within the pascified relaxivity of an idylic "nature." Once again,
I laud much of what Greenpeace has done, but this time, I think they need to do something else.

I have a suggestion for all the folk who wish to turn to an organic lifestyle and live forever in idyllic peace...The world selects an area the size of Texas...and cordons it off. Anyone who wants to live the extreme life of an organic peasant, can go there to live. There, they can grub their organic food and live in a dirt and stick hut...

Need I say any more?
