The "downloadable personality" capability that the Alpha has was mirrored in the Itanic. I am led to believe that you can just download an entirely new instruction set and GO! This is (possibly) how they use the Itanic registers to do x86 stuff.

Dynamic is always slower than pre-compiled. If you need speed, you compile.
