- Just because the design is released, doesn't mean the implementation cannot be charged for. And if you knew how much money IBM, for example, makes off their services, you wouldn't feed the line about services and support not cutting it. Sun will have that, hardware revenue, and yes, software revenue...open sourcing does not prevent the company from also having a commercial version.
