Disney is a bunch of liars!!

This, however, is blatantly incorrect. When you buy a cd (or a
dvd for that matter), you do in fact own that particular instance
of that music.

I will stand by my original statement but will conceed that it could be interpreted the wrong way. When I say "you do not own any music you purchase", I mean exactly that, you do not own the music. You do own the media and you have rights to use the contents in certain ways but you definitely do not own the music. When Michael Jackson bought all the Beatles' songs, he bought the music. When you buy a Beatles CD, you have purchased something vastly different.

Heck, I saw an ad on tv the other day for the new dvd of
"Cinderella" and it included the tag-line "Own it today!" Are you
calling Disney a bunch of liars?

From your quote above, Disney is making a distinction between owning Cinderella and owning a new DVD of Cinderella.
