It's not the connector...it's the rent!

I use iPod not because I'm loyal to Apple or iTunes, but because I'm loyal to their business model. It's not about the universal connector. It is about NOT having to pay monthly subscription fees in order to continue playing the music that I purchase and download into my collection. It's simple:

Microsoft = RENT your music and pay...and pay...and pay to play it on Microsoft-licensed equipment.

Apple = BUY your music once and it's your (albeit only playable on Apple-licensed equipment.

Once I pay for my music the FIRST time, it should be mine for as long as I have a player to play it on.

Mr. Gates and the rest of the M$ think that we all just make so much money we shouldn't even notice how much we will all be paying in music, video game, and Office application monthly rental fees if Microsoft is able to successfully implement their business plans.
