MARS global warming
I hold in my hands the 10-3-05 issue of "Aviation Week and Space Technology" In this story is the following and I quote, "The retreat of carbon dioxide ice formations at the south pole by an average of 10 ft. per martian year, observed over four martian years from 1999 to 2005. A Martian year is 687 Earth days, or 1.88 Earth years. This rapid evaporation is a sign of climate change at the planet, Marlin says. In the past it was cold enough to support formation of the ice deposits, but it has become to warm to support them now.The ice-- located at 86.3 deg. S Lat.,49.4deg.W.Long--is in the form of mesas intermingled with pits where ice has retreated. By taking the current rate of retreat and extrapolating backward to fill in the pits, the loss of ice is estimated to have started a few centuries to a few tens of thousands of years ago. This time scale is not unlike climate changes on Earth such as the Ice Ages and the Little Ice Age, Malin says. "The rate at which the ice is dissappearing is atounding," says Jack Mustard, an associate professor of geological sciences at Brown University." I would also point out that the the Little Ice Age referred to was around 10,000 years ago and covered states like Minnesota and parts of Wisconsin in ice. These events were of course produced by mans inherent evil pollution producing ways.Pity the poor Martians, if they exist, doomed to death by mans pollution produced on Earth to the detriment of not only Mars but I feel the whole galaxy. Did you know we had such Power?
