They're also responsible for...
The lack of refinery space which caused the price spikes during the hurricane season (which still haven't returned to normal), the lack of drilling for oil in the US, especially along the coastlines and in ANWR, the idiotic need for some 40+ different formulations of petrol (gasoline) instead of maybe 4 or 5, the wildfires some years ago because the national forests weren't being cleared of the excess dried veg (see also: dead trees), the destruction of the levees in New Orleans which caused the massive flooding.
