But if they gave away books, what would you say?

If someone gave away books on health, hygeine, weather forcasting, farming and caring of animals, building better housing, forcasting storms, avoiding disease, language skills, work skills and computer skills, would you be against that?

I don't see the computer as being a way to improve peoples lives, but rather as a window into ways to improve people's lives. As long as the person using it can read, they can find information.
I don't think this is something for children, but rather for adults and leaders to use in areas that need more information.

My only concern is who's going to put up a free or cheap wireless network in the countries these laptops are distributed.
It's great to have a wireless a laptop.... if there's a network to use it on.
