my experience
i actually preffer AMD for price/perfromance, my issues are more with the 3rd party chipsets. they seem to be geared more for performance than stability (all those OC options and all).
i think this was probably because more of the enthusiast market was wanting AMD chips than th ecorperate. if they want to please the corperate market, VIA is going to need to build for stability.
