REVIEWS CONFIRM PRESCOTT IS A DOG !!!
I see most folks here haven't read the online reviews but when you do you'll see that in desperation to save face, Intel has really released what IMNHO is a defective piece of crap.
Virtually every hardware review site including THG (which is Intel biased) confirms Prescott is not only a failure, it's an over-heating, under-performing, bad joke.

There ain't ANYONE in enterprise who is gonna purchase hundreds or thousands of these Flame Throwers unless they desire new employment elsewhere... The electrical consumption and heat is DOUBLE that of an equal speed A64 AMD chip and Prescott don't even do 64 bit processing. Then there is the added air-conditioning load to cool these CPU's which run 15-20C hotter than a Northwood P4 chip. Even PC enthusiasts would be foolish to purchase Prescott which is SLOWER and runs hotter than Northwood.

Ace's Hardware has a picture in their review of a Dog heating it's toes next to the Prescott powered PC. That says it all...
