Linux? Why not?
I think convertible tablets are a great idea, and would be the only MS product I might consider. However at this time they are overpriced and underpowered and lack built in dvd/cdrw which makes them less useful as laptop replacement.

The reason the cost is so much is MS. It would be interesting if Acer had the nads to offer their product without MS, but odds are they would damage all their agreements. Talk about undue influence.

?What exactly would a Tablet PC with Linux do?? Almost anything you could do with the other. Yes onenote is an interesting app, but it locks you in to the MS treadmill.

There are several dozens projects using Linux on the various tablets in various states as well as some commercial offerings:

I can see that collaboration, note taking, & forms, maybe useful to some and annotating doc's is kinda cute, but for my personal use a wireless (more book like) way of surfing and reading doc's would be useful. I can wait form more open integration. I can wait till they get less expensive. Even If I got an an MS one I would still use only Moz & OO or VNC into a *nix workstation.
