Ah, but you are getting a different Dell
than the average buyer... Optiplex line, correct? That line actually has a snowball's chance of being viable for the long turn in a business situation. The laptops have always been very good for the business user. We have both at our locations and as long as you get a tech support person who was educated in London and not Calcutta, you don't have to fight to get your service. Now if they would lose the Western Digital refurb drives...

Unfortunately, most ads directed at the home/general user are for the Dimension line which is a huge POS. The Dimension is more integrated, has a smaller power supply (150-200W, but relying on USB for expansion? PULEEZE!)

Some of the people I work with bought the Dimensions for home use, thinking they would have the same experience as with their work machines and we know how that turned out. High failure rates in the HDs, video chips, etc. and Dell sends the replacement parts to the poor user who may or may not know how to put them in. Usually, they have to pay someone to do the work-so much for warranty service!
