That sounds like a pretty good record, but smaller vendors can be MUCH better for business.

We use a vendor that only sells to business and education. When we decide on a base machine, we choose the processor (AMD in our case), montherboard (MSI), NIC card (3COM), Graphics card(Geforce4MX), Hard Drive(Seagate), monitor(Generic LCD), and then they build them for us. We leave it up to them to fill in the rest of the blanks.

When it's time to change up the configuration, they send us the proposed changes, and we have to approve them. If we don't like a particular peice of hardware in their new spec, we tell them what to change and they change it.

When things break it's not a catastrophy, as they prestock us with spare parts. Once we've replaced a part, we call them and tell them about it, and they send us a new replacement - no questions asked, no hold time, no BS. They also credit us $25 when we have to replace any part on our computers.

They also support the pre-imaging service you described, but we choose to just image incoming machines ourselves, as it only takes 1.5 minutes to image a machine anyway.
