Hmm - All Junk?
90% of the time, the average home consumer does not know what they are looking for in a computer. They expect there computers to run like the ads say they will. Or, if they use computers at work they expect the same performance from their home machines. Also, if the Gateway, IBM, HP, Dell machine that they use at work is a good machine, what brands do you think people will go and buy?

There will always be the "low-end" junk, cheap machines for the home consumer, and there will always be companies to make those cheap machines too. The Gateway/Emachine merger may create a larger comapny, but they won't come close to competing in the business markets with business class, quality products.

There will always be companies that tailor to business, and companies that tailor to the home consumer. In my opinion, Dell and HP should get out of the home consumer market. Gateway/eMachines should stay away from the business market.
