Aw, come on.
I know very little about the UltraSparc IV or Intel architectures, but I do know there is a lot more to chip performance than buzzwords like "multithreaind", "superthreading", "preemptive multitasking", "cooperative multitasking".

Have a read of this John Stokes article.

I wish marketing types would leave this stuff alone, and just say the chip runs faster. Confusing non-techos like me with a variety of interpretations of multi-threading, hyperthreading, etc. just makes them look dumb.
