"says independent analyst Roger Kay, Dell is still selling to its original demographic: PC gaming enthusiasts."
Is this guy serious? The Dell XPS costs more than what most people or businesses will pay for a system and doesn't even come close to accounting for the bulk of Dell's desktop business (that would be Dimensions and Optiplex - hardly ******** gamer systems). Most gamers don't buy built systems, they build their own. I can go to Monarch and I can piece an AMD system that'll run circles around the XPS for the same price or get one that is comparible in performance for less. I moved to the AMD64 line when it first come out. My servers are now Opteron and I'm replacing my desktops/laptops (Dell btw) with HP systems (Turion laptops/ AMD64 desktops). Until Dell decides to really support customer demand, no more business. IBM, HP, Sun, and a ton of white box builders are more than willing to give me what I want - AMD64 inside the box. - Posted by: rapt0r Posted on: 11/10/05 You are currently: a Guest | Members login | Terms of Use
